Get a beta key

Ferrule is in private beta, and it runs only with a license key from us. Without one it watches nothing. Keys are free during the beta, and have every paid feature on.

Ask on Discord

1. Join the Ferrule Discord.
2. In #beta-keys, post a message saying:
   • the name the key should carry: yours, or your company's;
   • roughly what you'll point it at, such as "UniFi, Proxmox and a Synology". It helps us know what's being tested.
3. We'll send your key to you by direct message, usually within a day. Allow direct messages from server members, or it can't reach you.

The key is one long line starting FERRULE1.. It goes in on the setup wizard's License step, or later on Settings → License: see Enter your license.

Keep your key to yourself

Never post a key in a channel, a screenshot or an issue. Anyone holding it could run Ferrule under your name. If one leaks, say so in #beta-keys: we'll withdraw it and send you a new one.

No Discord?

Write to [email protected] with the same two things, and we'll reply with your key.

Is my key still good?

Settings → License shows the key's name and whether it's confirmed online. Ferrule checks once a day that the key hasn't been withdrawn, and stops watching if it can't confirm that for 30 days. That check is a plain download: nothing about you or your network is sent.
